Creating the future of teacher training with Sharjah

ELE Finland acted as an academic team in the University of Helsinki HY+ Ltd. led project – The development of a new Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Education for the Sharjah Private Education Authority(SPEA), and the Sharjah Education Academy (SEA).

The project’s overall goal is to develop a sustainable, scalable, andresearch-based teacher training process in Sharjah, UAE, and to enhanceteacher training and the education system at large, both regionally andinternationally.

‍Together with the University of Helsinki HY+Ltd., ELE Finland developedthe online content for the programme, trained the faculty of SEA, assisted in the accreditation process, and created a quality assurance process to ensure the high-level content of the programme. The first students were enrolled in January 2022. The program received its accreditation from CAA in August 2022. The programme’s Arabic version launched in January 2023 and thus is expanding its impact in the region.
